Guidelines for Manuscript Format

Manuscript published at Journal of the Korean Society for Aviation and Aeronautics must adhere to the format as per the below mentioned guidelines. Author(s) should submit an original manuscript in HWP file format and a title page using the online submission system and also in order to prevent any omission, submission should be made via e-mail (ksaa_journal@ksaaonline.or.kr) alongside the online submission (double submission/ confirmation system).

Format

The Manuscript should be prepared and submitted in Hancom Office Word, in the below mentioned format and layout.

Structure of the manuscript

The manuscript should comprise of an introduction, main body and conclusion.

The introduction will include goals and scope of the research, methodology and its contribution in the field. A main body will include analysis on main issues, development of theories and exploration of possible solutions. The conclusion is a summary of the research conclusion and suggestions for the future research.

Title

The title of the manuscript should be concise and descriptive, not exceeding 10 words. Author(s) will have to mention the title and author(s) name(s) both in Korean and English.

Abstract

All manuscript should contain an abstract of ten (10) to eleven(11) lines. In case of the manuscript submitted in English, it should additionally contain an abstract in Korean and vice versa. No Charts, references, or quotations may be a part of the abstract.

The abstract must be concise and factual. The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be stand-alone. For this reason, references should be avoided, but if essential, then cite the author(s) and year(s). Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if it is required, then it must be defined in the first mention in the abstract itself.

Keywords

Minimum of four (4), maximum of six (6) keywords should be provided in both Korean and English.

Artwork and Tables

Artwork files can be provided in black and white, in a printing ready format. Each artwork shall have its number and title at the bottom. Tables shall have their number and title on top.

Math formulae

Please submit math equations as editable text and not as images. Present simple formulae in line with normal text where possible and use the solidus (/) instead of a horizontal line for small fractional terms, e.g., X/ Y. In principle, variables are to be presented in italics. Powers of e are often more conveniently denoted by exponential function. Number consecutively any equations that have to be displayed separately from the text (if referred to explicitly in the text).

Terminology

Use the terms in Korean if possible. If the translated technical terms may be understood other than the original meaning, the author(s) may add the terms in an original language using additional brackets. Interpretation of technical terms shall follow 'Air and Space Glossaries'.

Footnotes

If required, each sentence may have footnotes for additional explanations. The right side of the footnotes shall be closed with a bracket, and contents of the each footnote should be arranged at the bottom of the each page.

Quotation

Each quoted sentence must end with information such as an author’s name and the year of publication of the quoted article in brackets.

  • Example: “……as been proved by earlier studies (Michael, 1999).”
    (Lee and Choi, 2020)
    (Kim et al., 2005a, 2005b)

If the manuscript tries to state a conclusion of one research paper, author(s) must start the sentence with the subjective paper’s author name followed by the year of the publication in brackets.

  • Example: “(예) Michael(1990) has classified the types of air transport…”

References

References should be listed at the end of the manuscript following its order mentioned in the manuscript and must display full citations for the sources used in the manuscript. A Few guidelines and examples of citing different sources are mentioned below.

Units

It is recommended to use the international system of units. Exceptions may be made in case a table written in ft-1b is quoted.

Front page of the submitted manuscript

A front page of the submitted manuscript must state the manuscript title (in Korean and in English), author(s) name(s) (in Korean and in English), member classification, author(s) place of business and position, responsible author’s address, e-mail address, phone number, mobile number and confirmation that the subjective manuscript has never been published in elsewhere.

Submission of the manuscript shall be made to the Society or the Editor-in-Chief
